YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the engineering staff to meet design, new product development by performing the following duties personally or through the engineering staff.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Review customer specifications and recommend design alternatives.
- Supervise and lead engineers and technicians who design mechanical structures and provide the appropriate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Work with the Program Management Office to assure that Stage Gate requirements are identified and met.Also work with the PMO to improve the process over time.
- Provide support and technical guidance to assembly operations, quality assurance, testing and Improve the end-to-endprocesses
- Oversees the technical aspects of key projects and maintains performance reports, data and analysis.
- Assures that the design and engineering activities support the overall project schedule
- Supervise and approve project cost estimates, provide input to and sign off on proposals
- Provide support to the Supply Chain Manager in the selection and qualification of new suppliers
- Hire, train, and mentor the engineering and supporting staff.
- Provide engineering and technical support as required to the Sales and Marketing team

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
- Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or civil engineering discipline
- 5 - 7 years of previous engineering experience and additionally engineering supervision experience is required
- Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Design and structural engineering expertise
- Project Management skills
- Data analysis and problem solving skills
- Financial and budget management
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
- Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
